Philadelphia, Pa.- Villanova rowing had another successful race with fast conditions at the Kerr Cup hosted by Drexel University on Saturday morning.
"The team had a strong week of practice leading up to the race," shared head coach
Carissa Adams. "Having a few more practices under our belt definitely has helped our confidence."
Villanova's varsity 8 boat competed in the first heat and came in first with a time of 6:40.3 edging out both Temple (6:42.4) and Jefferson (6:51.1). The Wildcat's varsity 8 boat was

Holly Hubbard,
Kaitlin Urbanik,
Amanda Miller,
Cecilia Spesia,
Mary Arnold,
Claire Barrett,
Greta Horgan, and
Julia Ramsey. In the second heat the Drexel Dragon finished first with the fastest overall time of 6:26.6.
In the 2
nd varsity 8 race the Wildcats competed in the first heat again this time against Temple and Washington College and came in second, behind the Owls, with a time of 6:49.4. Villanova's boat consisted of

During the first heat of the varsity 4 the Wildcats went up against Drexel, Penn, and Temple and came in third amongst the local schools with a 7:36.9 time. Villanova's varsity 4 boat was

Annie Dudrear, and
Mac O'Reilly.
Villanova's third varsity 8 boat finished first edging out Drexel by 0.1 seconds with a time of 7:04.2. After the Dragons was Jefferson in third and Cabrini in fourth. The Wildcats had

Tallulah Laska,
Emma Lovejoy,
Kara Dempsey,
Claire Kotwicki, and
Abby Burns in the boat.
Adams continued, "our goal was to follow our race strategy and use our competitors as motivation."
