Cherry Hill, N.J.- Villanova rowing finished with 23 team points, the most the Wildcats have ever earned at the CAA Rowing Championships, to take home third place. This is the second time since Villanova joined the CAA that they have taken home third, their first came in 2017.
In the first race of the day, the third varsity eight final, Villanova finished first with a time of 7:07.318. The Wildcats were ranked second coming into the race and beat out the favorites in Northeastern, who came in third, and Delaware who came in second by over three seconds. The Wildcats came in fourth in the varsity four finals that took place next, which gave them 4 team points.

Claire Kotwicki, Fiona Fennesey,
Madeline McCarthy, and
Caroline Colgan represented Villanova during the race and finished with a time of 7:55.599 beating out Eastern Michigan, UC San Diego, and UConn.

Kara Dempsey came in third and picked up 10 team points for Villanova. The Wildcats finished with a time of 6:56.426 beating Eastern Michigan, who came in fourth, by almost four seconds. Villanova was right there with Drexel, the Dragons came in second, only finishing a second behind.
The varsity eight final was the last race of the day and Villanova finished fifth with a time of 6:50.475. The Wildcats earned nine team points during the last race. Coxswain

Northeastern captured the title with 42 team points besting Drexel in second with 36 points. The Huskies finished first in the varsity right, second varsity eight and varsity four races to take home their seventh consecutive CAA rowing title.
