RICHMOND, Va.—Villanova had 50 student-athletes from the rowing program named to the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll in an announcement made by the league office last week. The latest academic honors for the Wildcats are for the Spring 2021 semester. The rowing team previously had 48 selections to the Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll for the Fall 2020 semester.
 
Student-athletes are eligible for the Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll by participating in a CAA-sponsored sport, having a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the designated academic term and being enrolled as a full-time student. Villanova led the seven schools that compete in rowing in the CAA with its 50 selections to the Spring 2021 honor roll.
 
The spring season was a strong one for the Wildcats on all fronts, with 45 student-athletes from the team also being named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for having a semester GPA of 3.2 or higher. Villanova combined its academic success with a third place finish at the CAA Championships, matching the team's highest finish since joining the conference. Seniors Cecilia Spesia and Muriel Thomas Clapp were named All-CAA honorees and both are members of the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.
 
In addition to their success on the water, the Wildcats had nine student-athletes earn a perfect 4.0 GPA for the Spring semester. The list includes sophomore Kara Dempsey, sophomore Olivia Frizzell, senior Amanda Miller, sophomore Haley Nguyen, junior Mac O'Reilly, junior Isabel Parker, Spesia, freshman Kaitlin Urbanik and junior Brooke Zigmund.
