Golf Announces Spring 2022 Schedule

Villanova, PA - The Villanova golf team announced their spring 2022 schedule on Thursday, which consists of five tournaments, followed by the BIG EAST Championship.

The Wildcats will look to continue strong play from the fall season, including the programs lowest overall score in a 54 hole tournament. The team score of 5-under par put Villanova in fourth place at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate back in October.

"We are excited about our spring schedule," stated assistant coach Patrick Aylward. "The team is looking forward to beginning the season down south, at two great golf courses in Pinehurst and Williamsburg."

To begin the spring slate of tournaments, the team will travel to Pinehurst, North Carolina on March 7-8, to compete in the Ross Collegiate Classic. The Wildcats finished 12th in this tournament last season, which is hosted by George Mason.

Following their opening event, the team will compete in the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate, at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Williamsburg, Virginia. The tournament's host is William & Mary and will take place from March 28-29.

Aylward continued, "In April, we return to three local courses, all of which we have had success recently."

After their two tournaments down south, Villanova will compete in three straight tournaments in Pennsylvania in the month of April. First, a one day event on April 4, the Columbia Spring Invitational in Springfield, at the Rolling Green Golf Club.

One week later, in Hellertown, the Wildcats will compete in the ABARTA Collegiate Invitational on April 10-11, hosted by Lafayette College. To round out the slate of five tournaments, Villanova will host their annual Wildcat Spring Invitational on April 18-19.

The BIG EAST Championship will be held from April 25-27 in Pine Mountain, Georgia at the Callaway Gardens.
