VILLANOVA, Pa.—In the second meet of the indoor season Villanova will host 10 men's teams and 11 women's teams for the Villanova Invitational at Ocean Breeze Track & Field Athletic Complex in Staten Island on Saturday afternoon. Field events begin at 12 p.m. and the first running event is at 12:30 p.m. The meet is expected to conclude just after 5 p.m. and results will be available on TFRRS afterwards.
Spectators attending Saturday's meet must be vaccinated and are required to show proof of vaccination to enter the building. All spectators must also wear a mask at all times inside the facility. Villanova opened the season at Ocean Breeze last week when they competed in the Penn 10-Team Select. The women's team won seven events and finished atop the team standings at the meet while tallying several performances that landed on the program's all-time top-10 lists. Graduate thrower
Sade Meeks (North Babylon, N.Y.) highlighted the opening weekend of the season for the Wildcats with a school-record performance in the weight throw. She threw for 17.98 meters to shatter a 20-year-old Villanova mark.
On the men's side, junior middle distance runner
Sean Dolan (Pennington, N.J.) ran the second-fastest indoor 800 meters in school history with a mark of 1:48.11 and redshirt freshman
Liam Murphy (Millstone, N.J.) tallied a first place finish in the Mile. Dolan led a group of three Wildcats who all finished among the top eight finishers in the 800 meters. Senior
Charlie O'Donovan (Cork, Ireland) finished third and junior
Miller Anderson (West Hartford, Conn.) placed seventh.
