EDISON, N.J. – For a second straight season,
Kaysie Stuba has been named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Preseason Team, as announced by the league office on Friday morning. The Wildcats earned 42 votes in the Preseason Coaches' Poll, slating them to finish fifth this season.
The La Grange, Ill.-native is coming off of a 2021 campaign that saw her lead the team in goals and points for a third consecutive season, netting 41 goals with 18 assists for 59 points. She scored on half of her 82 shot attempts during the year, sitting as one of three Wildcats to score 19 or more goals and convert at a 50% clip or better. She tied a career high with seven goals in the 21-12 win over Siena on April 18.
In her career, the two-time All-MAAC second team pick in 2019 and 2021 has scored 159 goals, dishing out 67 assists for 226 points. She has moved her way into the top-10 of career records in school history, sitting at eighth for goals, ninth in assists and 10 for points.
Villanova landed fifth in the preseason poll after going 8-6 in the 2021 campaign, 4-4 in MAAC contests. The Wildcats open the season on January 29, hosting Harvard and Iona inside the Villanova Swim Complex.
The MAAC Championships are set to take place April 23-24, hosted by reigning champion Marist at the McCann Natatorium in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
