Wildcats Completes Day One in Ohio

Villanova sits ninth out of 12 teams with 27 holes to play

MAINEVILLE, Ohio – Villanova golf placed ninth on the first day of the Xavier Invitational, notching a team score of 14-over in the team's first visit to the Cincinnati area.

Ryan Pamer leads the way for the Wildcats at three-under, currently ranking T5 on the leaderboard. The freshman from Ohio carded a 72 in round one for an even par, but was three strokes under after nine holes of round two.

Team captain Peter Weaver sits at T26 after a day of two-over, which included an eagle on his second attempt at hole six. 

Luke Alexander shot an eight-over for T53, carding a 36 on the front nine in round two. 

Sophomore Vimal Alokam went 10-over on the day, with a low round of 76 in his first go-through. Joshua Lavely rounded out the VU lineup at 17-over, with his best nine being a three-over.

The 'Cats will begin on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from tee 10 with 27 holes on the docket.
