Pastorek, Jalet Make Record Book Moves in Second Day of WVU Invite

The duo combined for three top-three individual finishes

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Both Audrey Pastorek and Winnie Jalet moved up the Villanova all-time performers lists during the second day of action at the WVU Invitational on Friday the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park.

The duo combined for a trio of top three individual finishes while also being a part of a top-five relay team on the evening.

A day after winning the 200 IM, Pastorek had a pair of top-three finishes on Friday. She posted a winning time in the 400 IM that reset her personal best by three seconds. Pastorek touched in 4:18.73, making her the seventh-fastest performer in Villanova history. In the 100 Back, Pastorek knocked nearly a second off of her personal best, finishing second with a time of 54.39 to retain her spot at third on the program's all-time performers list.

Jalet also made her debut in the Villanova record book thanks to a third-place finish in the 100 Breast. The freshman posted a 1:02.06 that not only went down as a personal best but also made her the fourth-fastest performer in program history.

Pastorek, Jalet, Lainey Quinones and Perri Stahl started off the evening's finals with a fifth-place time of 1:42.17 in the 200 Medley Relay. Later in the 800 Free Relay, Lexi Elkovitch, Mary Kate Farrell, Quinones and Molly Benson finished fifth in 7:31.22. The B squad of Pastorek, Hannah Wasmuth, Katie White and Cara Stapleton posted a ninth-place time of 7:41.32.

Kaitlin Gravell joined Pastorek for the 1-2 in the 400 IM, finishing second in 4:20.36.

White posted a personal-best time in the 100 Fly in her Consolation Final performance, touching in 55.20 for 10th overall, second in the final. The 200 Free brought more personal bests times with Molly Benson finishing ninth (1:49.07), Lexi Elkovitch in 11th (1:50.65) and Quinones in 13th (1:52.24).

Claire Feick landed a spot in the 1-meter Diving Consolation Final, finishing 11th with a final score of 265.45 after a 245.50 in the prelims.

Villanova sits at fifth heading into the final day of competition with 724 points. Saturday's action kicks off at 10 a.m. with 100 Free, 200 Breast and platform diving prelims. The final events of the day at 6 p.m. will also feature the 400 Free Relay and 1650 Free.
