WILMINGTON, Del.—In its second dual match of the spring season Villanova (1-1) fell to Delaware (2-1) by a 7-0 final score at the Delcastle Tennis Center on Friday afternoon. The host Blue Hens swept the doubles matches to claim the first point of the competition and went on to tally wins in all six of the singles matches.

The top players for the Wildcats in Friday's match were senior Matthew Jones (Dallas, Texas) and sophomore Ryan Nguyen (Oakton, Va.) who each took their Delaware opponents to a tiebreaker. Jones won his opening set against Guilherme Valdoleiros, 7-5, in the No. 4 singles match before Valdoleiros came back to force a tiebreaker and eventually post a 5-7, 6-4, 10-7 victory.
