JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After a productive week of training in Gainesville, Fla., the rowing team packed up the trailer and made its way back up the northeast part of the Sunshine State for a scrimmage against Jacksonville on Saturday.
"We are grateful for the opportunity to line up against JU in multiple pieces and we look forward to seeing them again later this season at the George Mason Invitational," head coach
Carissa Adams said. "Proud of the focus shown throughout the week from the entire team and the effort put forth by all three boats who raced on Saturday."
The Wildcats lined up for a total of seven varying distances in the scrimmage with the Dolphins.
"Scrimmages present the perfect environment to assess team speed and see the places we can continue to improve. Being a young team, we know we will continue to see increases in speed with every row which is an exciting place to be in March. We are looking forward to incorporating more team members into our lineups in the weeks ahead."
Regular-season action kicks up in two weeks when the 'Cats take on Drexel on March 19 in Philadelphia.
