FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – After day one at The Doc Gimmler hosted by St. John's University, the Villanova golf team sits in 10th out of 15 teams in the field.
The Wildcats combined for a first day score of +6, totaling 566 strokes in two rounds.
Peter Weaver leads the 'Cats with an individual rank of T17, contributing a 67 on the first round and 71 on the second set of 18 holes.
Vimal Alokam (T34) and Jason Lohwater (T54) each carded a 68 in one of the two rounds and finished the day second and third in VU's lineup.
Kyle Kinnane and Joshua Lavely were tied for 64th through 36 holes, each putting up a 147 on the Bethpage Red Course.
Luke Alexander, who competed individually, ended at T77 on the leaderboard.
The Wildcats will return to the course for 18 more holes on Sunday, aiming to beat out last year's team finish of 7th.
