MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Freshmen
Katie White and
Claire Feick paced the Wildcats on Saturday with a win each as Villanova fell to West Virginia, 194-100, at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park.
The duo logged two top-three showings for Villanova (2-6) on the afternoon.
White was victorious in a close 200 Fly, topping WVU's (4-2) Mia Walters by just under three-tenths of a second with a winning time of 2:02.48. That marks her fifth win in the event this season. Feick won the 3-meter for the third time this season, scoring 258.68. She also posted a third place showing in the 1-meter (242.10).

Katie White and
Perri Stahl turned in a third-place showing in the 400 Medley Relay, finishing in 3:53.47. In the 200 Free Relay,
Lainey Quinones,
Lexi Elkovitch,
Cara Stapleton and Stahl posted a second-place time of 1:37.03 while
Emily Zimmermann, White,
Mary Kate Farrell and
Molly Benson clocked in at third in 1:42.30.
Kaitlin Gravell had the first top-three individual showing of the day for the 'Cats with a close race win the 1000 Free. Nearly a second and a half separated first and third with the senior touching third in 10:27.48. Elkovitch also posted a third-place finish in the 200 Free at 1:55.54.
Pastorek added second place showings in both the 100 Back (58.34) and 200 Back (2:06.10). Jalet was third in the 100 Breast at 1:05.18 while Stahl finished second in the 50 Free at 24.07. Villanova had a pair of 2-3 finishes, first in the 200 Breast thanks to Jalet (2:21.79) and
Margaret Kleinsmith (2:25.86) and then in the 500 Free with Farrell (5:13.36) and Benson (5:13.78).
Later, Gravell and Jalet went 2-3 in the 200 IM with times of 2:08.76 and 2:01.12, respectively. White was second in the 100 Fly (57.42) with
Arabella Lee following in third (57.68).
Villanova returns home tomorrow for Sprintfest with La Salle. The meet starts at 11 a.m. at the Villanova Swim Complex with Senior Day festivities beginning at 10:45 a.m.
