VILLANOVA, Pa. – Villanova's four-event fall slate for the 2023-24 campaign opens on Sunday as the Wildcats competed in the Navy Day Regatta in Philadelphia.
 
This is the second consecutive year that Villanova is racing in the event hosted by Saint Joseph's and the third showing since the 2019-20 season. Last year, Villanova's Collegiate Four A and Eight A boats turned in strong finishes in a pair of large fields, finishing in 17^th (14:24.97) and 13^th (13:20.60) respectively.
 
Villanova will send four boats out on the water, three in the Collegiate 4s and one in the Collegiate 8. The 4s will get underway at 10:04 a.m. with the Collegiate 8 following at 1:08 p.m.
 
"We are looking forward to our first opportunity to race this season," head coach Carissa Adams said. "The team is coming off a successful Fall Break where they put in a lot of good work. I am really proud of the intention we have put forward thus far and am excited to see how they stack up against our local crews."
