Wildcats Win Matthews Auto Collegiate

Peter Weaver shoots -7 to finish in 2nd place.

APALACHIN, N.Y.— The Villanova men's golf team wins the Matthews Auto Collegiate by two strokes over Binghamton and St. Bonaventure.

The Wildcats began the day four strokes behind Lehigh and improved three strokes from yesterday to win the tournament.

Peter Weaver finishes the tournament in a tie for second place. He finishes with a combined score of minus-seven. Peter has continued to finish high on the leaderboard as he has finished top 10 in all events so far this year. 

Ryan Pamer finishes with back-to-back scores of 70 (minus-four).  He finishes in eighth place on the leader board. 

Jonathan Elkins improves his score by four strokes today to shoot a one under 72.  He climbed the leaderboard in day two to finish at a tie for 26th.

PJ O'Rourke finishes with back-to-back scores of 74. He finishes his two rounds at a tie for 37. 

Joshua Lavely shoots 80 in round two and finishes at a tie for 65th. 

Vimal Alokam continued to shine in the individual position, finishing in a tie for 13th among all competitors with a score of even on the weekend. 

UP NEXT: The Wildcats look to keep the momentum going on at the Bucknell Fall Invitational on October 8th.
