Rowing Concludes Training Trip with Scrimmage Against Jacksonville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Villanova's annual Spring Break Training Trip brought another successful week of preparation that culminated in a scrimmage with Jacksonville on Saturday in Gainesville, Fla.

"We had an awesome training trip," Villanova head coach Carissa Adams said. "The venue is perfect for our team and we are thankful for Gainesville Area Rowing for hosting us each year."

The Wildcats lined up for various length pieces with the Dolphins in the scrimmage with both sides providing formidable performances.

"We were excited to scrimmage against Jacksonville this morning," Adams said. "It allowed us to assess our speed and lineups against a strong competitor. We had a consistent tailwind of 5-7 mph.  We came out feeling like both teams were evenly matched and saw tight margins between the boats. Villanova rowing is onPACE and I'm excited to see how we will develop over the next 7 weeks. I truly feel lucky to coach this group that always puts team culture first."

Villanova's spring schedule officially gets underway on March 25 when the team heads to Quakertown, Pa. to take on Lehigh and Colgate.
