SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – Day one at the Ross Collegiate Classic wrapped up on Monday evening with the Villanova Wildcats tying for 13th out of 18 teams.

The 'Cats had a combined score of 592 over the two rounds, shooting a team score of 300 in the opening 18 then a 292 to round out the day.

Peter Weaver dominated in the second round, carding a four-under in the last 18 holes on Monday to follow up his one-over performance to open the competition. The team captain ranks T-8th on the leaderboard with a total score of three-under.

Ryan Pamer ended the first round with VU's best score in the opening 18, going one-under to begin the day at Mid Pines Golf Club. The freshman completed the first day of competition tied with Jonathan Elkins for 58th in the field.

Elkins finished tied for second in the Villanova lineup with a two-round score of seven-over, shooting an even-par second round to finish the day.

Luke Alexander shot a seven-over in the first round and even-par on the back nine in round two to tie himself for 77th at the end of the day. The senior was one of 20 golfers out of the 90-plus that competed to tally an eagle, doing so on the fifth hole in his second round.

Vimal Alokam rounded out the VU lineup with a 10-over on the first day, including back-to-back rounds of five-over to place in a tie for 77th.

Jason Lohwater golfed on a separate course with the rest of the individuals and placed in a tie for 11th among the competitors at Pine Needles GC after shooting a seven-over in his round.

UP NEXT: Eighteen more holes of golf are set for Tuesday to complete the Ross Collegiate Classic, with a shotgun start beginning the round at 9 a.m. in North Carolina.
