GLENSIDE, Pa. – Villanova golf closed the first day of its spring competition in first place out of a field of 15 teams. The Wildcats totaled a one-under on the day while notching the most pars out of any team in the field to finish atop the overall leaderboard.
Peter Weaver is tied for first in the field after shooting a five-under, with a three-under 68 in the opening round and a 33 in the final nine holes.
Ryan Pamer shot a four-under 67 in the opening round, then went even-par in the second round to place third heading into the last day of action.
Luke Alexander finished tied for 20th after shooting a two-over 73 to begin the event and putting forth just one bogey in the final nine to finish at exactly even.
Vimal Alokam totaled the most birdies in the field with nine on Monday to finish T-22nd in the field as an individual competitor.
Jason Lohwater shot a six-over on the day with a three-over on the opening 18, sinking three birdies to place tied for 39th.
Joshua Lavely rounded out the 'Cats lineup with a 17-over, shooting an 83 in the first and a five-over in his second round.
Kyle Kinnane went 13-over with two birdies in the competition. Matt Minerva ended at 20-over with a strong end to the day, shooting even-par in the second round.
The final nine holes of the Wildcat Spring Invitational will be taking place on Tuesday.
