Villanova University head women's basketball coach
Denise Dillon today announced the 2023-24 Wildcat schedule. Villanova will play a 29-game schedule, including 18 Big East Conference contests and four Philadelphia Big Five games.
The 2023-24 campaign begins the second week of November with a trip to the Pacific Northwest. Villanova will tip off the year on Nov. 10 with a game at Portland, and then play at Oregon State two days later on Nov. 12. Villanova begins the home portion of its schedule on Nov. 19 when the Temple Owls visit the Finneran Pavilion. Following the match-up with Temple, the Wildcats will stay at home to battle Holy Cross on Nov. 21.
After a trip to Wake Forest over Thanksgiving Weekend on Nov. 26, the Wildcats return home to face Richmond on Nov. 30, before playing at Columbia on Dec. 3.
Starting with a home game versus Penn on Dec. 5, Villanova will play three games in seven days. The Wildcats play at Saint Joseph's on Dec. 9 and will host Princeton on Dec. 11.
The BIG EAST Conference slate is set to begin on Dec. 16 with a trip to Madison Square Garden to take on the St. John's Red Storm. After the final non conference game at La Salle on Dec. 21, Villanova will play 17 straight conference contests to end the season.
Villanova will play all BIG EAST opponents twice, with the exception of St. John's and Xavier. The Wildcats will play Xavier once at home and St. John's once on the road.
The BIG EAST Conference previously announced an agreement with leading sports streaming service FloSports to continue to be the home of the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) presented by SoFi for the 2023-24 academic year. FloSports has served as the digital home of BIG EAST women's basketball since 2020-21 and expanded its BEDN lineup in the fall of 2021 to include more than 500 Olympic sports events, as well as BIG EAST original content such as "Shootaround" and "In The Bonus," the Conference's weekly men's and women's basketball feature shows. FloSports offers both monthly and annual subscriptions, and as part of the expanded agreement, BIG EAST member institution student and faculty discounts will be made available.
Villanova is set to make eight national television appearances this year. The televised games include home games against Creighton (Jan. 27/CBS Sports Network), Connecticut (Jan. 31/SNY) and DePaul (March 3/FS1) and road contests at Wake Forest (Nov. 26/ACC Network), DePaul (Jan. 28/ FS1), Marquette (Feb. 10/Fox), Creighton (Feb. 24/Fox) and Connecticut (Feb.28/SNY).
