HAMPDEN, Mass. – VU wrapped up at the UConn Invitational after three rounds of play, finishing tied for sixth place. The Wildcats shot 27 over in round three, bringing them to 33 over for the tournament.
Rhode Island captured the team championship, shooting five over across the three-day event.
Vibhav Alokam had the best round among the Wildcats in round three. The freshman shot four over and finished just outside the top ten in 11
th place. His stroke average over the three days was 73.3. The 11
th place finish is his second top 20 finish of the season.
Matt Zerfass shot nine over (81) in round three. That brought him to five over for the event, putting him tied for 15
th place. This event was his first top 20 finish as a Wildcat.
Ryan Pamer finished day three shooting eight over (80). He concluded the event tied for 24
th place.
Joshua Lavely shot 11 over in the third round (83). He finished tied for 59
th.
Jackson Lehner shot his lowest round of the Invitational at 78 (+6). He birdied three holes on the day and finished the event 22 over, tying him for 62
nd.
Vimal Alokam shot five over (77) on day three, improving on his score from the first two rounds. He finished in 73rd place.
UP NEXT: The 'Cats have a week off and will travel to Westfield, N.J., to play in the Georgetown Intercollegiate at Echo Lake Country Club from October 14-15.
