Final Score: Villanova 87, Robert Morris 73

For Team Impact: This charity exhibition contest benefited Team Impact, an organization that matches children with serious illness and disabilities with college sports teams, creating a long-term, life-changing experience for everyone involved.

Stepping Forward: Villanova's new front court tandem, featuring Preseason All-BIG EAST First Team choice Eric Dixon and transfer Enoch Boakye, handled much of the early scoring for the Wildcats. The pair combined for 15 points over the game's first 8:11. Robert Morris sank 5-of-8 from beyond the 3-point arc to forge a 17-17 tie.

Dixon ultimately led all scorers with 28 points to go with six rebounds, three assists and zero turnovers in 23:50 of action. Boakye posted a double-double with 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field to go with 10 rebounds in 27:50 minutes.

"Obviously, everyone here has known Eric for a very long time," noted Villanova head coach Kyle Neptune after the game. "Enoch is a force as well, especially defensively. He's a great calming older voice in the locker room. He's obviously really good around the rim as well. We're excited to have both of them."

Added Boakye: "What I want to bring to this team is defending and rebounding. And I want to play Villanova Basketball."

Longino Led in the Second Half: Senior guard Jordan Longino helped ignite the Wildcats' offense in the second half, scoring 13 points in the period. The Doylestown, Pa., native finished the day 8-of-12 from the field, including 3-of-4 from beyond the 3-point arc for 21 points to go with five rebounds. His +29 rating while on the court was the best of any player in this afternoon's exhibition contest.

"We've seen Jordan do this in practice when he's healthy," said Neptune. "I don't think a lot of people have seen him a lot when he's been healthy. We know what he is capable of. None of this is a surprise to us. When he's healthy he is a high-level defender, a No. 1 defender who can guard 1-5. He can play anyone position on the floor offensively. He's a really versatile guy and a great leader as well."

The Wildcats held a 17-point lead with 2:35 to play before turning to its young players over the final minutes.

Notable Number: Graduate transfer guard Jhamir Brickus was just 1-of-8 from the field on the day but he nonetheless played an instrumental role in creating offense. The former La Salle guard contributed 10 assists with just one turnover and also collected four rebounds.

"Jhamir is just a basketball player," said Neptune. "He can do everything on the floor. He makes guys better, can handle tough situations, and use pick and roll. I thought Robert Morris did a great job in (defending) pick and roll. They were tough and I thought that affected us."

What They Said:
Neptune: "I thought we set the tone from the beginning. We tried to defend at a high level. I have to give Robert Morris a lot of credit. They made some runs and were really tough. There were five basketball players out there who could all dribble, pass and shoot. That's how we normally are. I thought it gave us some trouble early and early in the second half. We settled in towards the end of the game. Overall, I'm excited for how our guys competed."

"I like the way the rotation went today. We got a lot of guys some good minutes. For the young guys, it was their first chance to play under the lights in front of a crowd. To their credit, they played hard."

Boakye on his rebounding that helped Villanova gain a 51-27 edge on the glass: "Just reading the ball, making good predictions on where it may come off it misses so we can get second chance points."
