MIAMI, Fla – Villanova men's and women's swimming traveled to Florida to compete at the CSCAA National Open Water Championship. The Wildcats saw three top 20 finishes in the 5k race.
 
Leading the trio is sophomore Marlene Blanke with her third-place finish. She swam a time of 1:06:41.78, stealing third by .02 seconds. This finish qualifies her for an invitation to the USA Swimming Open Water Nationals in April.
 
Sophomore Peri Gaguzis was able to grab eight place with a time of 1:07:10.77. Freshman Owen Nye rounds off the trio with his 19^th place finish and time of 1:03.33.98.
 
The Wildcats are back in the pool on January 8^th as they travel back to Florida to compete against Florida State.
