GLENSIDE, PA. — Villanova leads all teams after day one of the Wildcat Spring Invitational.
After 36 holes the Wildcats as a team shot three under. Second place Saint Joseph's Villanova by nine strokes while third place North Carolina Central trails by 14.
Peter Weaver
Peter Weaver finished day one 5 under and in first place of the invitational. Weaver led the way for the team after finishing his first 18 holes six under par (65) and in first place. That first round included nine birdies, four of which came in a row to start his day. In round two however, the senior shot one over (72).
The senior leads the field in total birdies with 12 and has the best scoring average on Par 3s so far with a -2.
Ryan Pamer
Ryan Pammer is four under and in second place after day one. Pamer finished his first round tied for third place, shooting two under par (69). The sophomore added five birdies in his first-round performance. Pamer shot an identical two under (69) in round two to get to four under.
On day one Ryan finds himself second in birdies with nine and has the best scoring average on par 4s with a -5 average.
Jackson Lehner
Jackson Lehner finished in a tie for 10th and one over on the day. Lehner was tied with teammate
Ryan Pamer in third after the first round with his first round two under par (69). The junior added six birdies with four coming on the back nine. The second time was not as successful for Lehner as he shot three over (74).
Jackson had eight birdies on day one which puts him in a eighth for most birdies.
PJ O'Rourke
PJ O'Rourke finished in a tie for 29th and eight over on day one. O'Rourke shot even par (71) in the first round, outing him at a tie for 13th. In the second round he would shoot eight over.
Jonathan Elkins
After day one
Jonathan Elkins is in a tie for 24th and six over. Elkins was tied for 17th and shot one over (72) in round one. In round two Elkins scored five over (76).
Individuals
Vimal Alokam
Vimal Alokam shot one over in day one and is tied for 10th. Alokam finished round one tied for seventh on the overall leaderboard, shooting one under (70). In round two Alokam shot two over.
On Par 3s, Vimal has the second-best scoring average at one under par.
Peter Barros
Peter Barros is two under and is in a tie for 3rd place. Barros shot even par (71) and a tie for 13th is where he stood in round one. Unlike his teammates, Peter improved in round two shooting two under, 69.
The freshman is tied for second in the field for Par 5 scoring average at five under and is one of seven golfers to record an Eagle.
Joshua Lavely and Nathan Marion
Joshua Lavely and
Nathan Marion had two identical rounds on day one. Both players are eight over and in a tie for 29th. Lavely and Marion finished four over (73) and in a tie for 29th after round one. In round two, both shot four over (75).
