Quartet of Wildcats Chosen as Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Selections

PHILADELPHIA – For a second consecutive year, four members of the Villanova Swimming and Diving program have been recognized as Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area performers, as announced Monday. Audrey Pastorek and Nicholas Jubilee earned the first Philly-SIDA accolades of their careers while Molly Benson and Nolan Danus made their ways back on the list.

These teams are nominated and voted on by the sports information offices of 30 colleges and universities in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area. Both the men's and women's groups are made up of 10 student-athletes each and a Performer of the Year is selected, as well.

All four of Villanova's honorees are being honored for their work in the classroom for the second time this season as they were all tabbed College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections earlier in April. This is the third consecutive year that at least four Wildcats have been recognized by the group.

Danus has become a regular on the Philly-SIDA list, earning his third consecutive plaudit. The senior finance major from Morris Plains, N.J. collected three All-BIG EAST performances this season, including a gold medal in the 200 IM. He also added silver in the 400 IM and bronze in the 200 Fly, resetting the program record in all three races. He raced in all eight regular season events for the men this season, grabbing five wins in that time.

This accolade marks the second time in Benson's career that she has made the list after debuting last season. She earned five All-BIG EAST performances at this year's championship meet. The Psychology major from Kensington, Md. was a BIG EAST champion in the 200 Free and also earned gold in the 200 Free and 800 Free Relay to bring her career total to five BIG EAST golds. She added on silver in the 500 Free and bronze in the 400 Free Relay. She competed in nine regular season meets with eight winning swims, six as an individual and two with relays.

Much like Benson, Pastorek also led the 'Cats with five All-BIG EAST performances this season. The real estate major became the fifth women's swimmer in program history to be named BIG EAST Most Outstanding Swimmer in back-to-back seasons. At her final conference meet, she earned All-BIG EAST status in every event she competed in. She won the 200 Back and 200 IM, moving her to be an eight-time BIG EAST Champion in her career while adding a silver in the 100 Back. The Savannah, Ga. native was also a part of two silver medal relays in the 200 and 400 Medley. Throughout the regular season, Pastorek competed in every meet, racking up 12 individual wins and three relay victories.

Jubilee was also a major award winner at this year's BIG EAST Championships, earning the Men's Co-Most Outstanding Diver plaudit to be the program's sixth winner overall and first since 2022. He won gold in the 1-meter by .2 in the finals. Throughout the season, the junior nursing major from Painted Post, N.Y. logged two top-three finishes throughout the regular season.
