Golf Reveals Fall Schedule for 2024 Campaign

A challenging schedule awaits head coach James Wilkes and the Wildcats with six fall tournaments

VILLANOVA, Pa. – Villanova golf head coach James Wilkes announced a challenging schedule for his squad in the 2024 fall campaign on Wednesday morning.

The Wildcats will compete in six fall tournaments, making a return trip to four different events with three new courses on the horizon for the Villanova golfers.

The fall kicks off in the Empire State for the fourth consecutive season as the 'Cats travel to Seven Oaks Golf Course for the Alex Lagowitz Memorial hosted by Colgate. Rising junior Ryan Pamer has recorded a top 10 finish in each of his appearances in Hamilton, N.Y., with a runner-up honor in his collegiate debut before tying with classmate Joshua Lavely for ninth place last year.

Villanova makes a re-appearance at St. John's event, now re-named the Doc Gimmler Red & Black, on Sept. 16-17. Lavely and Vimal Alokam are the lone Wildcats who competed two years ago at Bethpage as VU ended that weekend at four-over.

The following two weeks feature new tournaments but familiar opponents as Villanova first travels to Connecticut's event. GreatHorse Golf Course in Hampden, Massachusetts, is the host for the UConn Invitational from Sept. 29 through Oct. 1 where the 'Cats will take on one of the top teams in the BIG EAST as well as a challenging field.

Next up is another conference foe in the Georgetown Hoyas with VU making a trip to Westfield, New Jersey, and Echo Lake Country Club for a mid-October Georgetown Intercollegiate.

A visit to Long Island marks VU's last road trip of the fall with a second straight appearance at the Nassau Intercollegiate. Four returning Wildcats golfed in Glen Cove last year with Pamer finishing atop Villanova's lineup in a tie for third place overall.

The 'Cats will wrap up 2024 by hosting the Big 5 Championship at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square on October 24. Three returning Wildcats made their Division I debuts at last year's Big 5 event in transfer Jackson Lehner and then-freshmen Peter Barros and Nathan Marion.

Villanova welcomes four newcomers to the roster in a pair of freshmen (Vibhav Alokam and Cameron Besaw) as well as two transfers (Gus Vickers and Matt Zerfass).
