HAMPDEN, Mass. - Golf wrapped up round two of the UConn Invitational by climbing two spots on the leaderboard, finishing the day in third among 13 teams. Villanova sits four strokes behind the leader UConn. 

VU has shown their efficiency by placing in the top five in the tournament for pars, birdies, and eagles; leading the tournament in eagles with two. Four of the six Wildcat golfers currently are under par across eight par five holes over the first two days.

Matt Zerfass propelled himself up the leaderboard and is tied for second, one shot below the leader. He eagled two holes and birdied another to help shoot four under, (68) which ties for his career low round. It was the lowest round of all golfers participating on day two. Zerfass holds a stroke average of 70 across the first two days of the tournament.

Vibhav Alokam shot three under (69), improving on his day one score to break even through the first two days. He is tied for 10th after two rounds. 

Ryan Pamer held steady by shooting the course par (72) for the second day in a row. He is currently tied for 10^th going into day three.

Josh Lavely is tied for 50^th place after round two, he shot eight over in his second trip around GreatHorse Golf Course.

Jackson Lehner shot eight over (80), equaling his total from round one. He birdied his first hole on the back nine. Lehner is currently tied for 65^th.

Vimal Alokam shot 11 over in round two and is 26 over through the first two days. He is in 77^th place after two rounds of play.

UP NEXT: The 'Cats will play the third and final round at the UConn Invitational tomorrow, October 1, teeing off at 10:10 a.m. After the conclusion of this tournament VU will be off for a week before traveling to Westfield, N.J. for the Georgetown Intercollegiate at Echo Lake Country Club from Oct. 14-15.
