VU will tee off the spring campaign on February 2-3 when they travel to West Palm Beach, Fla., to take part in BIG EAST Match Play hosted by the University of Connecticut.
The 'Cats will go back down south after a month off on March 13-15, heading to St. Simons Island, Ga., to play in the Peoples Championship at Sea Island Golf Club. The club is no stranger to Coach Wilkes, as the 2016-17 and 2017-18 teams both played one-day events there. Western Carolina will be hosting the Wildcats along with 19 other teams that weekend.
Villanova will be taking on their first repeat event on March 24-25 when they enter Williamsburg, Va., and the Golden Horseshoe Golf Course for the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate, where the Wildcats tied for ninth last season and took first in the 2021-22 season. On April 6-7, VU returns to Pennsylvania to play in the Abarta Coca-Cola Invitational at Northampton CC. Lafayette College will be hosting nine teams alongside the Wildcats. This is a very familiar tournament for Villanova, as they have appeared in four iterations of the tournament over the past 10 years, but this will be their first time at Northampton.
To end the regular season, the Wildcats will be making their first appearance in the Mountaineer Invitational at Pete Dye Golf Club, organized by West Virginia University on April 14-15.
BIG EAST Championships will be held at Callawassie Island Golf Club in Okatie, S.C., from April 26-28. The Wildcats took sixth in last year's conference tournament, with two golfers finishing in the top 25 individually.
