New for the 2025-26 academic year, Villanova will announce its top performers from the previous week in a press release and social media post each Monday afternoon. The weekly wrap will recognize one standout student-athlete from each sport who competed during the previous week.
 Â
VILLANOVA, Pa.—It was another successful Homecoming Weekend for the Wildcats as the football team won its fifth straight Homecoming game and the volleyball team tallied a crucial BIG EAST win over rival Marquette on Saturday night. The latest edition of the Villanova Athletics Weekly Wrap features 10 teams for the second straight week.
Â
Women's Cross Country
Lizzie Martell, Graduate Student, Essex Junction, Vt.
Â
Martell was the Wildcats top finisher at the Haverford Invitational last week as Villanova tallied its fourth invitational win of the season. She came in second in the 5K race with a time of 17:39.4 and recorded her second runner-up finish of the season.
Â
Field Hockey
Erin Mitchell, Freshman, Forward, Villanova, Pa.
Â
Villanova put itself in excellent position to qualify for one of four spots in the BIG EAST Championship with a 4-2 win over Providence in its final home game last week. Mitchell scored goals in the third and fourth quarters of the victory and was credited with her second career game-winning goal. She recorded her first career multi-goal game and has found the back of the cage three times this season.
Â
Football
Luke Colella, Graduate Student, Wide Receiver, Wexford, Pa.
Â
Colella had six receptions for 107 yards and two touchdowns in the Wildcats win over UAlbany. He recorded his fifth 100-yard receiving game of the season and fourth in the last five weeks while hauling in touchdown receptions for 34 yards and 36 yards. Colella's five 100-yard games this season are one away from tying the single season school record.
Â
Golf
Ryan Pamer, Senior, Hudson, Ohio
Â
Pamer tallied his third top-10 finish of the season and was the Wildcats top finisher at the Nassau Intercollegiate last week. He came in sixth overall and finished the 54-hole tournament with a score of 216 (+6) at Nassau Country Club.
Â
Rowing
Kate Shipley, Sophomore, New Hope, Pa.
Â
Villanova launched its Fall competition season last week at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta and came away with a pair of top-three finishes. Shipley was the coxswain for both boats which earned medals, including the Championship Fours earlier in the day and the Championship Eights later in the afternoon.
 Â
Men's Soccer
Josh Oladele, Junior, Midfielder, Yardley, Pa.
Â
Oladele recorded his first points of the season with a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over VMI during the week. The first goal of his collegiate career was the game-winner just 5:59 into the contest and Oladele also registered an assist on the game's final goal in the 51st minute.
Â
Women's Soccer
Hannah Dickinson, Senior, Goalkeeper, Seattle, Wash.
Â
Villanova played two BIG EAST matches last week and Dickinson totaled 19 saves with an .864 save percentage in the pair of contests. She had one of the best games of her career in a narrow 1-0 setback against No. 12 Georgetown when she had a career-high 15 saves. The total number of stops was four more than her previous career high and made her the Wildcats first keeper with 10+ saves in a single game in more than four years.
Â
Men's Swimming & Diving
Max Kunisaki, Freshman, Free/IM, Cockeysville, Md.
Â
Kunisaki tallied his second individual win of the season with a first place finish in the 100 free against Georgetown over the weekend. He touched the wall in 46.24 for the win after earlier anchoring the Wildcats to a second place finish in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:31.27.
Â
Women's Swimming & Diving

Â
Farley was a double winner in the 100 free and the 200 free against Georgetown last week. Her winning times were 50.65 and 1:50.85, respectively, and she helped the Wildcats improve to 3-0 on the season with a 172-128 victory in the team results.
Â
Volleyball
Reagan McGivern, Freshman, Middle Blocker, Topeka, Kan.
Â
McGivern had a BIG EAST best 10 blocks on Saturday night as Villanova defeated Marquette for the first time in eight years. She added eight kills in the match and finished the week averaging more than 1.5 blocks per set in two matches. McGivern totaled 14 blocks and 18 kills against DePaul and Marquette, including a match versus the Blue Demons in which she had a career high 10 kills while hitting at a .350 clip.
