WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Villanova Men's Golf earned their third consecutive top five finish in a stroke play event by placing tied for fifth out of 14 teams at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate, hosted by the College of William & Mary.
The Wildcats tied for fifth with Navy at 869 (+11) and finished behind Longwood, Drexel, Rhode Island, and the host, William & Mary. The Lancers shot 856 (-2) across the event, including a round one total of 280 (-4).
Justin LaRue from Longwood and Carsten Judge from Georgetown shared the individual co-championship at eight-under 205.
Ryan Pamer picked up his 16
th top 10 finish of his career, as he shot 69 (-2) on the final day. He finished at one-over (214), helped by totaling two-under (140) across the final two rounds. Pamer birdied five holes in the third round, including three in a row on the front nine.
Jackson Lehner recorded his highest finish at a Division I event of the season, placing tied for 20
th in the field. The senior carded four-over (75) on the final day of competition but leaves Virginia with a season-low round that he picked up on the first time around the course. Lehner finished with a final total of five-over (218) in the tournament.
Gus Vickers also placed within the top 20
, tying with Lehner for the final spot. He answered all six of his bogeys with birdies to break even on the day, carding a 71.
This is Vickers' first top 20 finish as a Wildcat. The graduate student carded three-under (33) on the front nine, tying him with
Jackson Lehner's round one total for the lowest round by a VU golfer at the event.
Vibhav Alokam registered a score of three-over (74) in the final round. He placed tied for 40
th in the event overall at ten-over (223).
Matt Zerfass rebounded from the second round, shooting three-over (74) on day two. The junior tallied four birdies and shot one-over (36) on the back nine. Zerfass moved up 12 spots on the leaderboard on day two, finishing tied for 47th.
Nathan Marion shot 79 (+8) on the final day of the event. He tied for 68
th amongst all competitors and tied for ninth across 17 individual participants in the event.

The Wildcats will play one more round of 18 on Tuesday, March 25, to determine the team and individual champions of this event.
