SPRINGFIELD, Pa. - Villanova Men's Golf sent five golfers to compete in the Columbia Spring Invitational at Rolling Green Golf Course on Monday.
The Wildcats shot 611 (+51) in a tournament that was won by Yale University, this placed them 11th in the event that they competed in as a B team. John Daly II from Arkansas, Matthew Lin from Yale, and Tyler Brand from Dartmouth shared the individual championship.
The course, located in Delaware County, Pa., the same county as Villanova, is a par 70, 6,941 yard course. The golfers in the event played two rounds of 18 holes in 5 count 4 format.
Joshua Lavely led the way for VU, shooting 149 (+9). He started off with a 74 (+4) on the first round that included three birdies. Lavely followed up with a similar round on the second trip around, shooting 75 (+5). He led the Wildcats with four birdies on the day and placed tied for 27th.
Cameron Besaw shot 154 (+14) on the day, including 77 (+7) in both rounds he played. He placed tied for 50th, helped by three birdies on the day.
Ian Love tied for 54th at 155 (+15) at the event, shooting 76 (+6) in the first round and 79 (+9) in the second. His first round score of 76 is his lowest round since carding a 75 in the second round of The Doc Gimmler in September. Love recorded two birdies in his first seven holes of the day.
Vimal Alokam used a fantastic second round to finish the day tied for 56th, shooting a team low 74 (+4) on his second time around, where he shot par or less on 13 of 18 holes. This was his first time back on the course since the Chestnut Hill Invitational, and first Division I event since the UConn Invitational. The 74 was a season low round for Alokam, his lowest since his 70 at the 2024 Wildcat Spring Invitational. The senior shot 156 (+16) across the tournament.
Peter Barros made his first appearance since the Georgetown Intercollegiate in October, tying for 67th at 162 (+22).

The Wildcats will return to competition on Sunday, April 6 and Monday, April 7 at the Abarta Coca-Cola Invitational hosted by Lafayette College. All 11 Villanova golfers will be competing at the event.
