BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Men's Golf was forced to finish the first day of the Mountaineer Invitational at Pete Dye Golf Club after 27 holes due to weather conditions.
Various golfers were able to complete a 10th or even 11th hole, but as a team, the Wildcats are through nine in the second round.
Before the weather rolled in, Villanova placed 10th through those first 27 holes played, with one golfer within the top 25.
After a rocky first go-around where the 'Cats shot 25-over, they shot three-over as a team through the turn of the second round, ranking fifth among all teams in the stanza.
There will be a rolling start at 8:45 A.M. that will continue through the conclusion of the event.
THE LINEUP
Vibhav Alokam shot five-over 75 in round one while tallying two birdies. He rocketed up the leaderboard in round two, shooting even through 11 holes with two more birdies to his name. He is tied for 25th at five-over 121.
Jackson Lehner rebounded from an eight-over 80 first round to shoot one-under 39 through the ten holes in the second round. The senior is currently tied for 40th at seven-over 119.
Matt Zerfass carded nine-over on the day before Mother Nature struck, shooting five-over 77 in round one and four-over 48 in round two.
Gus Vickers kicked off the second round by carding even at 40 through his first 10 holes; his two birdies helped improve his first-round score to finish out at 10-over and tied for 65th through the first 28 holes.
Ryan Pamer shot 14-over on day one. The junior recorded two birdies in round one and is tied for 89th.
PAIRINGS
On day two, the golfers will continue in their pairings from day one to complete the second and third rounds.
