BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Men's Golf took 14th place out of 18 teams in their first appearance at the Mountaineer Invitational at Pete Dye Golf Club after two days of action in the team's final event of the regular season.
The Wildcats shot 313-298-332=943 over the three-day event, carding 79-over across the two days.
Despite being halted by the weather on day one, Villanova had the fourth-best score in round two, which they continued on the morning of day two, shooting ten-over par.
Oklahoma State shot even in the event at 864, capturing both the team and individual titles, with the Cowboys' Eric Lee capturing the individual championship.
THE LINEUP
Vibhav Alokam tied for 48th in the event, shooting two-over 74 in round two and 11-over 83 in the final trip around. At the event, he shot 18-over 234.
Matt Zerfass shot 15 over on day two, tying for 57th. He carded seven-over 79 in round two and eight-over 80 in round three.
Jackson Lehner shot the only round at even or less for the event for the Wildcats when he shot par (72) in the second round. He recorded a team high for birdies in a round with four in that go-around while shooting even on both ends of the course. In the third round, he carded 13-over 85, moving him into a tie for 64th at 21-over in the tournament.
Gus Vickers shot one-over 73 in the second round, including a birdie on a 225-yard par three. He shot even on the back nine to conclude the second round. In round three, he carded 12-over 84. Vickers tied for 71st.
Ryan Pamer shot 22-over (166) across the final two rounds. He finished tied for 94th place, at 29-over. He tallied three birdies on the last day of competition.
