VILLANOVA, Pa. – Just one event stands between Villanova and the CAA Championships as the Wildcats head to Raleigh, N.C. for the Lake Wheeler Invitational for the two-day regatta.
This will be the team's first time in the highly competitive 18-team regatta field that is hosted by No. 18 Duke and No. 24 North Carolina. There are four nationally ranked programs racing, also including No. 12 Virginia and No. 20 Columbia.
"We feel like this is a great opportunity to see where we stack up against some of the top programs in the country," Villanova head coach
Carissa Adams said. "The team has put in some hard work since the Knecht Cup in preparation for this regatta. This will be a good test of our adaptability as we have no experience with this racecourse. We are honored to be invited to race with this competitive field."
The Wildcats will race three boats over the weekend in three sessions of action. Friday will get underway at 9:30 a.m. before the second session of the day starts at 2:15 p.m. Saturday's racing begins at 9 a.m.
