Golf Moves Into Seventh After Round Two in the BIG EAST Championship

Ryan Pamer and Matt Zerfass shot one-under on the second day

OKATIE, S.C. – Men's Golf is in seventh place after the second round of the 2025 BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship.

Three different Wildcats shot under par on one end of the course, en route to scoring the third-lowest round as a team, shooting one-over 289. Through two days, the 'Cats are at seven-over 583 and are within striking distance of the top five, being only two strokes ahead of fifth-place UConn.

Tomorrow, the 10 teams will compete in one last 18-hole round to find the individual and team champions.

Marquette holds the lead as a team after day two, as UConn's Alex Heard is in first individually at seven-under 137.

THE LINEUP

Ryan Pamer shot three-under 33 on the front nine, starting quickly on day two, going as high as sixth on the individual leaderboard at the turn. The junior recorded four birdies on the first nine holes, including on the first two. Pamer shot two-over 38 on the back nine, where he tallied another birdie on the final hole to shoot even on the day. He is currently tied for 12th, shooting even (144) over the first two days.

Vibhav Alokam shot six-over 78 on the second day and is currently tied for 23rd. He birdied two holes in the round.

Matt Zerfass totaled one-under 71 to move up 13 spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 23rd. He shot one-under 35 on the front nine and even on the back half to shoot his first round at 71 since the first day at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate.

Pamer and Zerfass tied for the seventh-lowest round on the day out of all competitors at one-under 71.

Jackson Lehner shot his best nine of the event after the turn during the second round, shooting even (72). He birdied four holes, including the first two, including one on a par five. On the front nine, he shot two-over 38. The senior is tied for 31st at four-over 148.

Gus Vickers shot three over 75 on the second day, helped by carding one-over 37 on the front nine. He is in 41st at seven-over 151.

PAIRINGS
On day three, the 'Cats will be part of the final tee group, with Seton Hall and Georgetown. They will tee off from hole 10 every eleven minutes, starting at 9:35 in reverse lineup order. Vickers will be teeing off first for VU.
