VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Villanova University men's tennis team honored seniors
Trey Fourticq and
Josh Vestal with a 4-0 win over Lafayette on Friday (April 4) at the Villanova Tennis Complex.
Lafayette took the top doubles flight, but Fourticq and Vestal teamed up in the third flight to even the score with a 6-2 win. Then,
Cooper Gordon and
Kush Anand picked up a 6-3 win in the second flight, clinching the doubles point for the Wildcats.
In singles, Fourticq defeated Nick McKenzie, 6-0, 6-0. In the bottom two flights,
Thomas Wakefield and Anand won handily in straight sets, securing the 4-0 sweep for Villanova. Gordon,
Will Monahan and
Justin Frattarelli all had matches go unfinished.
Up next, the Wildcats will face St. John's on Wednesday (April 9) in Queens, N.Y. The match will begin at noon.
