WETHERSFIELD, Conn. — The Villanova men's golf team wrapped up the first day of the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Tournament in 8th place Monday afternoon.
VU shot 294 (+10) on the afternoon, with
Ryan Pamer leading the way shooting 71 (E).
Pamer started the day with two birdies at holes one and two en route to shooting 35 in the front nine. The senior went on to birdie at 12, 15 and 16, shooting 36 in the back nine to finish even in the first round and tied for seventh.
Vibhav Alokam followed for the Wildcats, shooting 73 (+2) on the day and finishing tied for 19th. Alokam picked up birdies at seven and 12.
Brockton English finished 74 (+3) on the afternoon, good for a tie for 30th place. English had birdies at seven and 11.
Matt Zerfass birdied twice in the front nine, shooting 35 (-1) before ending his day shooting 74 (+3). Zerfass sits tied for 48th place.
Luke Leonard rounds out Villanova in the standings in 68th after shooting 79 (+8).
The Wildcats complete the Ryan T. Lee Tuesday with first tee time set for 9 a.m.
