Wildcats' Midwest Road Swing Takes it to DePaul

MATCH CENTRAL

  VILLANOVA at DEPAUL

 OCTOBER 1 | 5 P.M. | WISH FIELD

Gabby Koluch

October kicks off with another Midwest road trip for Villanova as the Wildcats head to DePaul on Wednesday. Kickoff from Wish Field is set for 5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT.

Villanova (6-5, 1-2 BIG EAST) looks to get back in the win column after back-to-back losses to Creighton and No. 24 Xavier over the past week, falling in both in shutout fashion. The 'Cats have not seen a goal since the 27th minute of the BIG EAST opening win over Seton Hall back on Sept. 20 when Gabby Koluch rocketed a free kick attempt into the back of the net.

With the losses, Villanova still has just three points in conference play, putting it at sixth on the conference table. DePaul (3-6-1, 0-1-1 BIG EAST) comes into Wednesday with one point for a three-way tie in ninth. This contest will be the 23rd meeting between the two sides with them holding an even 10-10-2 record overall.

Fifth-year head coach Michele O'Brien's team ended a two-match losing skid in its last outing with a 1-1 draw at Butler on Sept. 24. The Blue Demons are 2-4 when hosting teams in the Windy City with a 7-10 scoring output. All four of those losses have come in shutouts.

DePaul was voted to finish seventh in the BIG EAST Preseason Poll with 39 points after a 5-8-7 campaign in 2024, 3-3-4 in conference play.
