HAMILTON, N.Y. — The Villanova men's golf team shot even in the second round and 1-over in the third to close the Alex Lagowitz Memorial in third place as a team Sunday.
The closing parts of the second round were concluded Sunday morning after play was suspended due to darkness Saturday. VU bounced back from a 7-over first round to a top three finish Sunday.
Reigning Alex Lagowitz winner,
Ryan Pamer, led the way again for the Wildcats as he finished tied for fifth place individually after finishing even. Pamer's best round of the tournament came in the second, where he birdied five holes and finished 1-under par.
Matt Zerfass followed and finished the tournament tied for eighth, shooting 1-over for the tournament. Zerfass finished strong, shooting 2-under par in the third round to elevate to a top 10 finish.
Brockton English finished tied for 16th in his first tournament with Villanova. English was consistent throughout the entire tournament, shooting 1-over in each round.
Luke Leonard finished tied for 27th in his collegiate debut. His best round was the second, where the freshman shot even.
Vibhav Alokam shot 7-over on the weekend, finishing tied for 34th. Alokam shot 1-over in the second round.
Joshua Lavely rounded out the Wildcats lineup tied for 59th. Lavely's best round was the first where he shot 1-over.
