PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Villanova swimming and diving teams fell to Pittsburgh on Friday night at Trees Pool. The Panthers won the women's meet, 211–87, and the men's meet, 228–70.
Villanova earned two event wins on the night.
Meghan Tiernan led the women with a first-place finish in the 200 Fly, clocking a 1:58.48. She also placed second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:20.09.
On the boards,
Nate Warson secured Villanova's other victory, winning the men's 1-meter dive with a score of 338.40.
Arabella Lee placed second in the women's 100 Back (56.08), followed by
Alana Leen in third (56.13).
Winnie Jalet finished second in the 100 Breast (1:02.88) and fifth in the 200 Breast (2:17.81).
In the women's 100 Fly,
Anna Farley finished second (53.79), while
Anna Kilponen placed third with a time of 53.92. Kilponen's swim moved her into third on Villanova's all-time performers list.
Farley also recorded a third-place finish in the 200 Free (1:48.38).
Carlota Colomer Guasch placed third in the 50 Free (23.58), and
Katie White finished second in the 500 Free (4:57.84).
On the men's side,
Owen Nye placed third in both the 1000 Free (9:32.99) and the 500 Free (4:38.93).
Justin Nowicki finished third in both the 200 Fly (1:48.63) and the 400 IM (3:57.92).
The Wildcats continue their road trip tomorrow at West Virginia, with competition beginning at 11 a.m.
