NEWARK, Del. — The Villanova University men's tennis team fell 7–0 on the road against Delaware on Friday, January 30, at the Delcastle Tennis Center.
The Blue Hens claimed the doubles point after defeating Villanova in a tight match on court No. 1. Mackenzie and Lock closed out a tough win against
Cooper Gordon and
Ethan Carr, 7-5, to help secure the opening point for Delaware.
In singles play, Delaware dominated across the lineup. On court No. 1, Garbero defeated Gordon 7–6, 6–4, while Lock topped Jones 6–4 on court No. 2. Tollenaar continued the Blue Hens' momentum with a 6–1, 6–2 victory over Carr on court No. 3, and Bezianis defeated Monahan 6–1, 6–4 on court No. 4. Taprio closed out the match with a 6–0, 6–0 win over Kruep on court No. 6.
