VILLANOVA, Pa. – Villanova's men's swimming and diving team fell to Seton Hall, 143.5-97.5, on Friday afternoon. The Wildcats recorded four first place finishes in the meet.
Villanova's A relay team of
Cole Gorsuch,
Hugh Boris,
Zach Sutter and
Max Kunisaki opened the meet with a runner-up finish in the 200 Medley Relay (1:30.61).
Sutter earned first place in the 50 Free (20.46) and placed second in the 100 Free (45.72). Kunisaki also finished second in the 50 Free in 20.73.
In the 1000 Free,
Patrick Casey led the Wildcats with a second-place finish (9:34.37), followed by
Owen Nye in third (9:40.41) and
Brady Tierney in fifth (9:51.11).
Gavin Jones recorded a pair of third place finishes in the 200 Free (1:41.83) and 100 Free (46.11).
Melson Arquillano added a third-place finish in the 100 Fly with a time of 50.61.
Justin Nowicki won the 200 IM in 1:49.82.
Max Christensen took second (1:51.43) and
Carter Gray placed third (1:53.55). Nowicki also added a third-place finish in the 500 Free (4:37.62).
Christensen later captured the 100 Back with a personal best time of 50.31.
Another 2-3 finish came in the 100 Breast, where Boris placed second in 56.40 and Gray followed in third (57.00).
On the boards,
Nate Warson won the 3-meter dive with a score of 322.73 and finished runner-up in the 1-meter (299.25).
The Wildcats return to the pool tomorrow for senior day Sprintfest. Festivities begin at 10:45 a.m.
