ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Villanova University men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to the Navy Midshipmen on Saturday afternoon at the Tose Family Tennis Center.

Navy secured the early advantage by claiming the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. Villanova picked up a victory at No. 3 doubles as Quincy Jones and Jack Sherner earned a 6-4 win over George Cutone and Tommy Kim.

In singles play, the Midshipmen won five of the six matches to seal the team victory. Thomas Wakefield provided the Wildcats' lone point of the afternoon, posting a strong 6-0, 6-3 victory over Lachlan Buckingham at the No. 5 position. Cameron Kruep pushed his No. 6 singles match to a second-set tiebreak before falling 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).

Villanova moves to 2-3 on the season and will return to action Sunday with a road match at George Mason.
