A White-Out Saturday On Tap as 'Cats Host No. 5 UConn

Villanova carries a six-game winning streak with it into showdown in Philadelphia

VILLANOVA, Pa. – Villanova hosts its second and final game of 2025-26 at Xfinity Mobile Arena Saturday as No. 5 UConn (24-3 overall, 14-2 BIG EAST) comes to South Philadelphia for a game that gets underway just after 5:30 p.m.

Tickets remain available by clicking on the link at the top of this page for a game that pits the second and third place teams in the BIG EAST. The Wildcats (21-5 overall, 12-3 BIG EAST) carry a six-game winning streak with them into this contest. Their last loss came in Hartford to the Huskies on Jan. 24, 75-67 in overtime.

On Saturday Villanova will recognize student group LEVEL, the campus organization focused on assisting students with disabilities. LEVEL has grown into a flagship organization on campus, symbolized each year through the "On Another LEVEL" game initiative, a visible reminder that Villanova competes and cares, on the court and in the classroom.

This is also a "white-out" game for the Wildcats.

Villanova hopes to bring its success on the road, where it is 7-1 in league play, to its home away from home, Xfinity Mobile Arena. The 'Cats are 1-1 there this season, having downed Penn 90-63 on Dec. 6 in the final of the Big Five Classic and dropped an 86-79 decision to BIG EAST leader St. John's there on Jan. 17.

The Wildcats got a major boost in Tuesday night's 92-89 overtime triumph at Xavier from guard Bryce Lindsay. The redshirt sophomore from Baltimore finished with 15 points, including 4-of-8, after enduring a rough shooting start to the month of February.

"There's a reason he's starting," said Villanova head coach Kevin Willard on Tuesday. "I have tremendous confidence in Bryce. He's been putting the work in. He's just been in a little bit of a slump. It was good to see him get out of it."

Lindsay's backcourt partner, Acaden Lewis, is another with great trust in his teammate.

"That's great to see," Lewis said. "I'm proud of him. It's not easy going through slumps when you're playing on national TV. Everyone expects so much from you. He's kept his head down, kept working. We needed him in a big game and he came through in a big way. I'm happy for him and our team."

The 92 points were a BIG EAST season high for the Wildcats. Villanova delivered 24 assists with just six turnovers in 45 minutes of action.

"We were popping," Lewis noted. "The ball was moving. That's something we do in practice and games. Make the extra pass and get the open shot. It makes the game easier, especially for guys like me."

At halftime Saturday Villanova will honor its new crop of inductees in its Varsity Club Hall of Fame. Among the inductees is former Wildcats head coach Jay Wright, the Naismith Memorial Hall of Famer who led VU to four NCAA Final Fours and two NCAA national championships in a 21-year tenure (2001-22).

Spero Dedes, Grant Hill and Andy Katz will have the national call on TNT and TruTV. Ryan Fannon and Whitey Rigsby will be at center court for the audio call on the Villanova Sports Radio Network (Fox Sports Philadelphia,  Sirius XM channel 387).
