Men's Tennis Drops Road Match To Georgetown On Saturday

'Cats Fall 6-1 To Hoyas

OLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Villanova men's tennis team fell to BIG EAST opponent Georgetown, 6-1, on Saturday, April 11.

The Hoyas claimed the early momentum by securing the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. Arthur O'Sullivan and Cyrus Zia defeated Ethan Carr and Cooper Gordon, 7-5, at the top spot, while Burke Pablo and Hank Williams earned a 6-3 victory over Kush Anand and Thomas Wakefield on court three. The No. 2 doubles match featuring Quincy Jones and Jack Sherner was left unfinished.

In singles play, Georgetown continued to control the match, winning five of the six contests. Arthur O'Sullivan defeated Cooper Gordon in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, while James O'Sullivan followed with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Ethan Carr. Joshua Lamm-Bocharov added another point for the Hoyas with a 6-2, 6-1 victory against Quincy Jones at No. 3 singles.

Jonah Hill secured a three-set win at the No. 4 position, outlasting Justin Frattarelli, 5-7, 6-0, 7-6 (10-7), and Jacob Mann topped Jack Sherner, 6-4, 6-0, at No. 5.

Villanova's lone point came at No. 6 singles, where Evan Ancu earned a straight-set victory over Burke Pablo, 7-6, 6-3.
