VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Villanova women's tennis team delivered a dominant all-around performance on Sunday, April 12, sweeping Haverford, 7-0, at the Villanova Tennis Complex.
The Wildcats (11-9) controlled the match from the start, securing the doubles point with decisive wins across all three courts. The duo of Emi Callahan and Maggie Gehrig opened the day with a 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles, followed by identical 6-1 wins from Lauren Monti and Jenna Stevens at No. 2 and Riley Cicero and Savie Seebald at No. 3.
With momentum firmly in hand, Villanova carried its strong play into singles, sweeping all six matches in straight sets. Olivia Corcoran set the tone at the top spot with a 6-0 win at No. 1 singles after Prochnow retired.
Jenna Stevens and Riley Cicero each turned in dominant performances, earning 6-0, 6-0 and 6-3, 6-2 victories at No. 2 and No. 4, respectively. Savie Seebald and Emi Callahan added straight-set wins at No. 5 and No. 6 with senior Emi Callahan not dropping a single game. Alina Kornyeva secured the final point with a 6-0, 6-1 decision at No. 3.
