PRINCETON, N.J.—Junior distance runner

Tristan Bolinsky (Gordon, Pa.) notched his fourth top 10 mark in school history in the hammer throw as Villanova competed at the Sam Howell Invitational on Saturday. A group of 10 Wildcats competed in three events at Weaver Stadium during the day.
Habler won the fast heat of the 1500 meters by more than a second over the runner-up from the host Tigers and the rest of the field of 64 runners, which included six Villanova athletes. The previous Sam Howell Invitational meet record – 3:44.52 – lasted just one year after being set by
Chanel Muir of La Salle last season. Habler's time in his outdoor season opener was one-tenth of a second off being the metric equivalent of a sub-four-minute mile and 0.15 off matching his personal best.
Sophomore
Jack Fenlon (Laois, Ireland) came in third in the 1500 meters and was one of three Wildcats to record new PRs in the event. He was clocked in 3:44.47 and was followed by sophomore
Charlie Moore (Brisbane, Australia) who registered a personal best time of 3:48.99. Graduate student
Matt Bogdan (Howell, N.J.) finished with a time of 3:55.12, junior
Nick Sullivan (Middletown, N.J.) crossed the line in 3:57.01 and sophomore
Jack Coomber (Brisbane, Australia) tallied a personal best time of 3:58.60.
The only other track event on the schedule was the 800 meters in which sophomore
Ben Thomas (Sydney, Australia) finished second in the elite section with a time of 1:50.93.
Bolinsky came in third in the hammer with a throw of 56.55 meters. That mark is tied for the sixth-longest throw in school history and is Bolinsky's fourth mark on Villanova's all-time top 10 list. He is the school record holder in the hammer with a distance of 58.56 meters recorded at the 2024 BIG EAST Championships, while his other three top 10 marks have all come this season.
Freshman thrower
Theo Hedgemon (Atlanta, Ga.) surpassed 50 meters for the first time using the collegiate hammer implement. He threw 51.12 meters and has improved his distance in each of three competitions so far this season. Sophomore
Joe D'Adamo (Nanuet, N.Y.) recorded a mark of 45.13 meters on Saturday.
