Seven Wildcats Lauded with CSC Academic All-District Honors

VILLANOVA, Pa. – Seven members of the Villanova Swimming and Diving team were named Academic All-District honorees by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday afternoon. Gavin Jones, Justin Nowicki and Zach Sutter represented the men's team on the list of award recipients while Anna Farley, Peri Gaguzis, Meghan Tiernan and Michelle Kasulka were the women's honorees.
 
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes swimming & diving honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot with Jones, Nowicki, Sutter, Farley, Gaguzis and Tiernan all advancing to the national ballot. Women's Academic All-America honorees will be announced April 28 with the men's list being unveiled on April 29.
 
Farley is now a two-time CSC Academic All-District Team selection on the heels of a stellar showing at this year's BIG EAST Championship, winning four gold medals with six All-BIG EAST honors. She was titles in the 200 Fly, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay and 800 Free Relay while seeing silver in the 200 IM and bronze in the 100 Fly. She was named to the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area team last season and has landed on the BIG EAST All-Academic Team the last two seasons. The junior Biology major has also been a four-time mention to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
 
Gaguzis was a three-time All-BIG EAST performer at this year's championship, winning gold the 400 IM while tacking on a silver in the 1650 Free and a bronze in the 500 Free. The junior Biology major who is also minoring in Italian has been on the BIG EAST All-Academic Team in each of the last two seasons and has been on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll four times.
 
Jones earns his first CSC nod after garnering All-BIG EAST status in the 800 Free Relay where he helped the team to a bronze medal with a program record time of 6:33.97. He was also a part of the 400 Free Relay squad that reset a nearly 30-year-old record with a time of 2:58.58 at the league championship. The senior pursuing an MBA in Accountancy has been a member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team and has been a six-time Athletic Director's Honor Roll member.
 
Kasulka lands her first CSC honor after becoming the Women's Most Outstanding Diver at the BIG EAST Championships in February where she won the 3-meter and was fourth in the 1-meter. She became just the second women's diver in program history to earn the honor. She was a BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection in 2023-24 and 2024-25 and has been a four-time Athletic Director's Honor Roll recipient.
 
Nowicki is now a two-time CSC honoree after a junior campaign that saw him earn four All-BIG EAST honors. He was the 400 IM champion with a program-record time of 3:47.65 and earned silver in the 200 Fly, adding bronze medals in the 200 IM and 800 Free Relay. His times in the 200 Fly (1:45.03) and 200 IM (1:46.83) were also program bests. Academically, the junior Computer Engineering major and Business minor was a Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Team selection in 2024-25 and a BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection in 2023-24 and 2024-25. He has also been a four-time Athletic Director's Honor Roll selection.
 
Sutter was a part of a plethora of program record performances at the BIG EAST Championships while enjoying All-BIG EAST status in the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Medley Relay with silver and bronze medals, respectively. He set the program record in the 50 Free (20.10) and 100 Fly (47.72) at the league meet, also knocking down the 100 Free records twice in one day. His first time of 44.24 beat the previous record that had stood since 1989 by .5 second before he bested his own time in the finals with a time of 44.23. During the season, he also reset the program record for the 100 IM with a time of 50.83. The sophomore Biochemistry major and Psychology minor has been a two-time mention on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
 
This is the second year in a row that Tiernan has earned Academic All-District status. The junior Biology major was a BIG EAST Champion in the 200 IM and earned All-BIG EAST status in the 400 IM and 200 Fly, both with silver medals. She was a member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team in 2023-24 and 2024-25 and was a CSCAA Second Team Scholar All-American in 2023-24.
