Men's Tennis Drops Midweek Match To Lehigh

'Cats Fall To Hawks, 4-0, At Home

VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Villanova Wildcats men's tennis fell 4-0 to Lehigh Mountain Hawks men's tennis on April 8 at the Villanova Tennis Complex.

Lehigh secured the early advantage by claiming the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. The duo of Wyeth Anzilotti and Henry Stoller earned a 6-4 victory over Ethan Carr and Cooper Gordon at the top spot, while Rafael Gracie and Kosei Ogata followed with a 6-3 win over Kush Anand and Thomas Wakefield on court three. The match on court two, featuring Quincy Jones and Jack Sherner, was left unfinished.

In singles play, the Mountain Hawks carried their momentum, picking up three completed victories to clinch the match. Alex Van Lumich defeated Cooper Gordon in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 1 singles. Aleksand Daskalovic added a 6-3, 6-4 win over Will Monahan on court three, and Benedi Horn-Bourque secured the deciding point with a 6-2, 7-5 victory against Thomas Wakefield at No. 4.

Several matches remained in progress when play was halted. Ethan Carr was leading in his match against Kosei Ogata after taking the first set, while Cameron Kruep and Jack Sherner were also in unfinished contests.
