HARDEEVILLE, S.C. — The Villanova golf team closed the regular season tying for seventh at the BIG EAST Championship at the River Pointe Golf Club in Hardeeville, South Carolina.
Ryan Pamer shot a career low 206 (-10), finishing second outright, three strokes ahead of third place finisher, Mischa Candinas of Marquette. Cayse Morgan (-14) and his team, Xavier (-21), took home the BIG EAST title and NCAA Tournament berth.
Pamer only bogeyed once on the day, but birdied five holes.
The 'Cats shot 865 (+1) as a team in the tournament, finishing two strokes behind St. John's, who finished sixth.
Brockton English followed for VU in the standings as he came in tied for 20th, shooting 217 (+1) in the tournament.
Matt Zerfass finished tied for 29th after shooting 219 (+3). Zerfass shot for par in the third round, his second best round of the tournament.
Vibhav Alokam rounded out the scored Villanova golfers, shooting 223 (+7). Alokam birdied six times across the three rounds.
Joshua Lavely shot 151 (+7) across the final two rounds, after entering as a sub for the 'Cats following the first round of play.
VU's successful season ended with three individual wins and two team wins across the fall and spring season. The 'Cats are expected to return four golfers to the 2026-27 team.
