NEW YORK – A pair of Wildcats were selected as BIG EAST Institutional Scholar-Athlete award winners on Wednesday afternoon with women's soccer's Hannah Dickinson (Seattle, Wash.) and golf's Ryan Pamer (Hudson, Ohio) earning the 2025-26 accolades. 

Both student-athletes are just the second Villanovan in their sport's history to be chosen for the award, which is presented to one male and one female from each of the league's member institutions. Student-athletes are nominated by their institutions and the awards are voted on by the BIG EAST Faculty Athletics Representative Council. Academic and athletic accomplishments throughout a student-athlete's entire collegiate career are taken into consideration.

Dickinson marks the first VU women's soccer player to pick up the award since Katie Ryan in 2011-12. The goalkeeper from Seattle has twice been named an All-BIG EAST Second Teamer, and earned an all-region accolade as a senior (VU's first in six years). Dickinson was chosen as the Villanova Senior Student-Athlete of the Year in the spring and returns to the Wildcats for her final season of collegiate eligibility in 2026, ahead of which she's already been named Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year.

Pamer is the first winner for the golf team since Michael Kania in 2012-13 to follow up one of the greatest careers in Villanova golf history. The Ohio native was a three-time All-BIG EAST honoree, twice an All-Region awardee and ranks first at VU in three different categories. Academically, he's been selected as a GCAA All-America Scholar on three occasions and was named a four-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team member on Tuesday.

Wednesday's announcement was another installment in a series of BIG EAST academic honors released in the summer. Last week the Villanova women's basketball and women's lacrosse teams earned the BIG EAST Team Academic Excellence Awards for the highest GPA in the conference within their sport, and nearly 400 Wildcats were named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team on Tuesday.
