On Comizio: Comes off a breakout campaign in 2022 when he developed into a consensus All-American and earned second team All-BIG EAST accolades as a short-stick defensive midfielder … One of the top returning Division I players in the country who has garnered preseason All-America recognition and been named to the preseason All-BIG EAST squad entering the 2023 campaign … A veteran of 49 career games for the Wildcats whose career totals include 93 ground balls, 41 caused turnovers, two goals, three assists and five points … Recognized as a USILA Scholastic All-American and a member of the PhillySIDA Academic All-Area Team in 2022 … Four-time selection to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team and nine-time member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

2021: Played in all 12 games as a short-stick defensive midfielder … Recorded an assist against Georgetown in the semifinal round of the BIG EAST Championship … His season totals included 19 ground balls and eight caused turnovers … All but three of his ground balls and five of his caused turnovers came versus BIG EAST opponents … Had a season-high three ground balls in games against Georgetown and St. John’s.

2020: Played in all seven games of the abbreviated season … Scored a goal against Hofstra and had an assist versus Delaware … Collected 14 ground balls and had four caused turnovers … Credited with six ground balls in the Delaware game.

2019: Played in all 15 team games as a freshman … Collected 11 ground balls and had five caused turnovers … Scored his first collegiate goal against St. John’s … Had a season-high three ground balls against Maryland … Had five ground balls and two caused turnovers in BIG EAST games, including being credited with two ground balls against both Denver and Providence.

Delbarton School: Earned three varsity letters in lacrosse and one in wrestling … Second team all-state pick as a senior … Winner of the Senior Lacrosse Hustle Award … High school teammate of his brother, TJ, a fellow Wildcat, as well as playing with future Villanova teammates Colin Crowley, Keegan Khan, Matt Campbell and Jack Cerza.

Personal: Born 6/21/99 in Basking Ridge, N.J. … One of five children of Rob and Keenah Comizio … Has four siblings: Kiwi, TJ, Kirby and Keely … Father played college football and mother played college lacrosse and field hockey at Penn … Brother, TJ, played lacrosse at Villanova where he was a two-time All-BIG EAST selection and an All-American his senior year … Sister, Kiwi, finished her collegiate field hockey career as a graduate transfer with the Wildcats … Sister, Kirby, played field hockey at Duke … Chose to attend Villanova for his understanding of the school’s culture and family atmosphere based on his brother’s experience on the lacrosse team … Noted that Villanova’s academic reputation and elite lacrosse program were factors that led him to attend … Graduated from the Villanova School of Business in May 2022 and is currently enrolled in graduate school.
